Keiko hand-dyes the thread with Natural dyes.
As much as she is an expert and continuously produce similar colors, she accidentally create some irregular colors as well. This is one of those. For the regular collection of our Natural Dye Sashiko Thread, please visit the official website.
*Please read the article of How to handle Natural Dye Thread and Fabric.
This is One of a Kind Sashiko Thread.
Please be advised that we may not be able to offer the exact same color in future. The threads in the same batch has very similar color. However, each of them are different. Please be advised that the photos are reference. You may not receive the exact same thread listed on the photo. I do my best to list the photos as close color as possible to the regular. However, please be advised that the color may be different due to many factors such as display and lighting. I share as many photos as I can so please compare the photos.
We do not accept the return due to the color of threads (However, please contact me first. I will do everything I can do). For the shipping & return policy, please check the article below.
Hand Dyed by Sashi.Co & Keiko Futatasuya.
This sashiko thread is also exclusively designed for Sashiko purpose. Four of thin embroidery threads are twisted with special technique. It will give you the great result. Since the thread is dyed by hands with Natural dyes, it is impossible to get the exactly same color every-time she dyes the thread. Please understand that you may get the similar color of the photo instead of the exactly the same color (also each monitor shows different colors...). If you have questions, please contact me first for your preference.
Upcycle Stitches carries about 0~10 skeins for each colors. If you see the pricing way above the regular price (like +$18.00 or so), it means that we are out of stock in the USA. The thread will be mailed from Japan without charging you the shipping fee.
Also, when the thread is out of stock, please contact me so we can give you the best estimate.

Youtube Channel to share our Wisdom
It is our (Japanese) responsibility to explain what Sashiko and the Japanese culture are.
Sashiko is more than making one perfect stitch. I want you to know how rich it is.
Support our Sashiko, then receive Atsushi's honest insight
It is very challenging to make a living as Sashiko artisans.
Please support our activities for us continue to be the Sashiko practitioners.
Atsushi & Keiko Futatsuya, and many friends.
We are a group of Sashiko Artisans. Upcycle Stitches (by Atsushi in USA) and Sashi.Co (by Keiko in Japan) are our activity name. Keiko is a great Sashiko artist, and Atsushi is trying to be a good storyteller while he enjoys Sashiko stitching.
Sashiko isn't about only design or product. It represents how the Japanese live(d).
It is our goal to continue the Sashiko stitching as original as we received - to pass it down to the next generation.
Learn the Core of Sashiko
The Sashiko workshops we offer is more than "fun time" together. It is different from the other types of workshops like 'let's do Sashiko together." The workshop is more like a "learning opportunity" where your brain and hands would be keep moving.
The authenticity we believe
We can find many types of interpretations in Sashiko and Boro. We are proud of the Sashiko we have been practicing, and we feel it is our mission to introduce the "Sashiko" as Japanese Sashiko.
