刺し子と小風呂敷の冊子をお手に取って頂き、ありがとうございます。

「みんな違ってみんな良い」という思いと、「両面とも綺麗になるような刺し子は可能」だという思い。

決してそれは特別な技術ではなく、「智慧」であることを伝えたい。

そういう思いから、ご縁を頂いている刺し子作家様のお力を借りて、

「小風呂敷の展示会」を開催することができました。

現代にも、昔のように刺し子をした人が存在するという、

伝統的と呼ばれるかもしれないけれど、今も生き続ける刺し子を楽しんで頂ければ幸いです。

Thank you very much for picking up this booklet, Sashiko and Small Furoshiki.

With the belief that “everyone is different, and that is a good thing,” and with the conviction that “it is possible for Sashiko to be beautiful on both sides,” we wished to share that this is not a matter of special technique, but rather of wisdom.

With these thoughts in mind, and with the generous support of Sashiko artisans with whom we are fortunate to share meaningful connections, we were able to hold this Small Furoshiki Exhibition.

We hope you will enjoy encountering Sashiko that continues to live and breathe today—perhaps called traditional, yet still practiced by people in the present, just as it was in the past.
